Matchpointer Online :: Daily Bulletins
|
McBruce's District 19 Regional Daily BulletinsWith the Penticton 2011 Bulletins, I began using a new program called ACBLmerge to display the results online. You can still see the Daily Bulletins online in pdf form as before, but you should also check out the new results pages. The Results column will turn green when results for that day are uploaded to the site. In the Daily Bulletin column, the inner background colour shows the colour of paper used for the cover, and the outer colour turns green when ready for viewing. If you want to print a good facsimile, get some legal sized paper of that colour for the cover sheet. Online issues, containing Sunday results and photos, and final masterpoint leaders, should be ready Monday morning, or possibly earlier. I try to get the results up before they appear on the ACBL site... The Daily Bulletin files are set up for online viewing, with the pages in numerical order. To print the files, you'll need to handle the imposition. I do keep all of the photos I have taken for Daily Bulletins and I would be glad to send you a copy of those I have taken before May 2008. (For photos taken since then, see the next paragraph.) Just send me an e-mail listing the photos you want, by Daily Bulletin issue, date, page number, and subject. Photos now available online! We post photos taken at ImageEvent.com, where you can order them, download them, or just have a quick look for fun. For older photos, contact me by e-mail. NEW! Check out the new online pair results, using ACBLmerge
You'll get best results viewing Daily Bulletin files by setting your pdf reader in "continuous" and "2-up" view. This will display facing pages together on the screen. Photos online! Click here to visit the photo collection, where you can view, comment on, or download the photos I've taken for the tournament.)

Bridge over Former Water - 2011 Victoria Regional Daily Bulletins
See above (and below) for printing details.
The posted file is the entire booklet all together in a pdf file, set up for viewing online. Each Bulletin issue has a different colour cover sheet (which colour? check the background colour of the link box -- but I usually don't decide until the beginning of the week of the tournament, leaving it gray until then), and inside white sheets which are legal-sized (14 inches long). So, if you really want to print the file, be aware that the pages are in their natural order and cover only one-half of a legal sheet. To get a copy you can fold together you will need to do the 'imposition' yourself: for a 20-page Bulletin, your ten sheets will be pages 20-1, 2-19; 18-3, 4-17; 16-5, 6-15; 14-7, 8-13; 12-9, and 10-11 (semicolons marking the separation between double-sided sheets). Too complicated? Take it to a print shop and let them do it for you! (Or, come to the tournament!!) You'll get best results viewing the file by setting your pdf reader in "continuous" and "2-up" view. This will display facing pages together on the screen. Photos online! Click here to visit the photo collection, where you can view, comment on, or download the photos I've taken for the tournament. (No photos yet, but they will come...) Pair game complete results and hand records online! Check below for complete results for all pair games. Includes pdf hand records, and a plaintext listing of the results at each table, alongside the hand so you can speculate on what happened! Very cool; check it out! The posted file is the entire booklet all together in a pdf file. Best results will be if you select 'continuous' and 'dual' in preferences; you'll see two inside pages at once, as you would if you were holding the booklet. To get a copy you can fold together you will need to do the 'imposition' yourself: for a 16-page Bulletin, your twelve sheets will be pages 16-1, 2-15; 14-3, 4-13; 12-5, 6-11; 10-7, and 8-9 (semicolons marking the separation between double-sided sheets). We've discontinued the print and cover versions of the Bulletin files (I don't think anyone was actually printing them, just viewing the Daily Bulletins online.) ALERT: Lynnwood is a fairly large tournament and I have a lot to do this week, with a full load of pair game boards to preduplicate with the District's new duplicating machine, as well as preparing the Daily Bulletins. I probably will not get around to posting the photos until Sunday evening or later. Pair game complete results and hand records online! Check below for complete results for all pair games.
