Unit 430 Sectional Information
Flyers, information, results, masterpoints.

This is a links page for Unit 430 tournament information.  For each recent tournament there is a link to the results, the masterpoint leaders, and the alphabetical list of masterpoint winners.  For coming tournaments, there is a link to pdf files of the black and white flyer (for printing on monochrome printers), a full-colour pdf version of the flyer (for viewing online or for printing on a colour printer), and a plaintext information page (for those who have trouble viewing pdf attachments or simply want to view the information in plain text).  Links in red boxes are not yet available; links in amber boxes are available but have not been confirmed as final by the Unit Board yet; links in green boxes are available and confirmed.

The sectional schedules come from the Unit 430 Generic Sectional Schedule, which is updated from time to time by the Unit Board.  This document contains a blueprint for all Unit sectionals: when they happen, which events take place at each sectional, what the start times are, and many other details.  The Generic Sectional Schedule can be viewed here.  This schedule was reviewed and updated for 2010.  Among the most important changes are: 10:00 start times (instead of 10:30) for final-day Swiss Team events, and open games are now stratified by AVERAGE masterpoint holding of a pair or a team, so even if you are over the limit you may still fit into a lower strat if your partner is (or your teammates are) under the limit.

Starting with the September 2009 Evergreen Sectional, we began posting complete results, including travelers for each board in the pairs games, as well as the pdf hand records.  Click on 'Links to Results' below to go to a page where you can view each event's complete details.  You;ll also find links to the ACBL listing of overall winners, and links to the tournament masterpoint leaders list, as well as the alphabetical list of all masterpoint winners and the pdf printable hand records.

Some of these links will open in a separate window or tab in your browser.  (If you get a separate window, it is time to update your browser and discover the pleasures of tabbed browsing.)  When you are finished looking at them, simply close the window or tab.  If your computer balks at viewing pdf files, download (or upgrade to) the free Adobe Acrobat Reader here.

2010 Unit 430-sponsored Sectional Tournament at Clubs
Clubs throughout District 19, June 7 - 13

Unit 430 is sponsoring a Sectional Tournament at Clubs, open to all District 19 clubs from June 7 - 13.  The STaC Director is Steve Bates, local contact is Rita Dodge.  The most exciting addition this year is the page set up for everything to do with the STaC on the ACBL Web Page.  From that page, you can view the Conditions of Contest, instuctions for game Directors, and a registration form--but at this point it is too late to register via the automated form; you can still register directly with Steve Bates via e-mail, as long as you do it before the day of your game).

Also on the website will be hand records for the games and the overall results, when they become available.  Check it all out here.

STaC Basics A STaC (Sectional Tournament at Clubs) is a tournament held at clubs over a specific area within one week.  Players play their regular games for a small extra fee, and the masterpoints are awarded as though the game were a sectional, in SILVER points.  (You need these silver points to become a Life Master).  Whenever more than one club has an open game in the same session, the leading scores from all of these games get their club award replaced with a larger overall silver point award!  (Sessions are morning, afternoon, and evening, with afternoon being games beginning between noon and 6pm.)  This means that if you score about 62% in Flight A, 56% in Flight B, and 50% in Flight C (occasionally lower), you may win even more silver points than you won at the club!

Limited point games and games not scored in matchpoints are not included in the combined overall awards, unless there is another game of the same type in the same session.  This isn't very likely, so we suggest that to make sure your players get the maximum silver point credit, you open up all of your limited-point games for STaC week, and advertsie to your players that you have done so.

In the table below, we'll post the table counts (for open games only) and open game overall winners in each flight for all sessions, along with links to the complete results, which include those games that cannot be included in the overall results for that session.  Below the table, we'll post the list of masterpoint leaders, which will be updated throughout the week.
