2011 Unit 430-sponsored District-Wide STaC
Silver Points at your local club, June 6-12, 2011!

The 2011 STaC will take place from June 6-12 at participating clubs throughout District 19.  This is a special annual event for clubs where all masterpoint awards are in silver points (otherwise only available at sectional tournaments).  Club games taking place on the same day at about the same time are grouped together to find the highest scoring pairs, and the masterpoint awards earned at the club can be increased to a much larger overall award.  Last year, 1,036 players participated at 704 tables throughout District 19, and the masterpoint leader was Marie Marchand of Vernon BC, who won almost 20 silver points!

Clubs in District 19 will be contacted in the spring of 2011 by the Unit STaC Co-ordinator and we will prepare large posters for clubs to display advertising the event.  The ACBL will assign a Director to send out the deals (all clubs play the same deals), combine the results, and post them on the ACBL Website.  Club managers will receive instructions on how to report their game results and where to send sanction money.

The 2011 District 19 STaC is now online at this page.  Clubs wishing to sign up may click the link and do so!

Event Schedule: Any regularly scheduled club game during STaC week is eligible for inclusion in the STaC.  However, there is a potentially large advantage in opening up your limited-point games for STaC week.  If you run a 0-200 game on Tuesday Afternoon at your club, your players will not be grouped in with the other Tuesday Afternoon games at other clubs for higher overall awards.  But if you open up the game, a few of your 0-200 players will still get a fairly good score in the open field and may be eligible for Flight C overall awards, or even higher strats.  (You do need to advertise that the game is open to your players; a game that is not normally open will not be included if only a few pairs outside the normal limit come out to play.)

The ACBL's website will give most of the results as they come available, and we will publish only the leaders at this site, while linking to the ACBL site with the complete results.
